Google has recently updated its Core Search Algorithm, though this update is not related to Panda Algorithm and also that there will be more updates of Core Search Algorithm in near future as Google want make its search quality better.
Google’s
Statement:
“This
is not a Panda update. As you know, we’re always making improvements to our
search algorithms and the web is constantly evolving.
We’re going to continue
to work on improvements across the board.”
Mozcast
and many other automated tracking tools have tracked huge spikes in the changes
taking place in Google search results.
Initially
it was thought to be because of the HTTPS algorithm update and which was given
more weight but Gary Illyes said that this was not the reason.
Wikipedia
is busy diverting its entire URL to HTPPS this week, which might be the
possible reason of changes happening on 1-5 Google Search result and causing
these automated tools to spike.
Well,
we all are so accustomed to see Google Panda and Google Penguin algorithm
updates, but this time it was not them, it was a simple Core Search Algorithm
update.
On
the other hand the HTTPS algorithm update gives your site a little boost in
ranking if your site goes to HTTS which means that adding a SSL (Secure Socket
Layer) 2048 bit key certificate to your website will give a small website
ranking benefit.
This
would affect the search engine results and could be a concern in terms of
search engine optimization but Google says that currently it has impact on global
queries lesser than 1%.
Google
is also planning to strengthen this update for security reasons as it want to
keep everyone safe on web.
